| i plan on having my vg30dett block/ heads sent to the machine shop once i start my tt build and want to know what work should be done at the shop to ensure a quality build suitable for 500+ whp. the block has 70k on it but since motor is out i plan on a complete rebuild. all new parts! build is going to be: 88mm weisco pistons eagle rods coated clevite bearings complete engine gasket kit + timming kit from conceptz.com stock turbos (new) 2.5" intercooler+ intake piping oversizeds side mounts spz 3" down pipes + 3" testpipes and spz 3" dual round tip cat back light weight flywheel + upgraded clutch dual pop jwt chiped ecu 740cc injectors with 300 deg. fuel rail adjustable cam gears thats all i canthink of off the top of my head, I already have a list of parts i will be needing, the thing im not to sure about is what machine work needs to be done to ensure a solid motor for 500+ whp. i've never had to send a block or anything to a machine shop for that matter. i would like to make sure that i get all the basics covered and maybe some extras if my budget allows. right now i need to find out what those basic "need to get done" things are so i can set aside the founds. eg. acid bath bore and hone cylinder (torque plate or no torque plate, is it a huge difference) having heads and tops of cylinders decked/ squared. having all cast flashing debured from oil/coolant galleys 3 angle valve job + compression test like i said i have no idea what the basic nessesitys are, im just pulling the above options out of my ass form posts ive read in the past.
can anyone tell me just the plain jane basics that would be required for the sturdy build. plus on the side maby a few extras that you know you would have done if you were building a 500+ whp motor and sending your block/ heads off to machine shop for work. remember i will be replacing rods and pistons, along with 85-90% of all other parts being new. thanks guys.
